Counselling

Counselling is a type of talking therapy; during therapy a trained professional spends time listening to you and helping you to find ways to manage your experiential and emotional issues. Our past and current experiences can leave us carrying unhelpful and limiting thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Counselling provides a safe space to reflect on these and how they impacted on us. Understanding ourselves better can help free us from those unhelpful habits and cycles and help us to find a healthier and more empowering way to move forward.

I have over eight years of experience working within both long term and short term counselling services. During this time I have worked with a variety of client issues from work-based stress, depression and anxiety to trauma, sexual dysfunction and binge eating disorder.

I originally trained as a Person Centred counsellor and I have since trained in modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis and Inner Child and Attachment Theory, this enables me to now work integratively. Working integratively means that I can adapt my therapy to better meet your individual needs.
